스리랑카 여행 호튼 플레인스 Breathtaking view - Horton Plains National Park

스리랑카에서는 차를 렌트해서 다녔습니다. 

옆이 절벽인 꼬불 꼬불 좁은 길을 따라 운전해서 갔습니다, 이때까지만 해도 좋았죠. 하늘로 쑥쑥 뻗어나간 키 큰 나무들의 숲. 굳이 식물원에 가지 않아도 피톤치드가 막 나와서 신선한 향기가 충만했습니다. 

We rented a car and drove to Horton Plains from Mount Lavinia. It took 7 hour to finally get there after 3:30 pm, we left at 8:30 am, google map's time estimation is never correct in Sri Lanka. It was always 2 times or 3 times more than the estimation. 

사진에서는 잘 안나오지만 나무가 다 50미터는 족히 넘는 장대같은 키의 나무들이었어요.

카타르 사막에 살다 온 저는 어찌나 좋던지... 

The tall trees were a great relief for me , as I've lived in Qatar for 2 years where no greenery can be found like this. 

당시 숙소가 있던 Mount Lavinia 를 떠나 달린지 약 7시간 여, (스리랑카에서 구글 맵의 예상 시간은 소용이 없어요. 보통 2배, 길 상황에 따라 많게는 3배 정도 시간이 걸립니다.) 오전 8시 반에 출발했는데 이제 오후 세시가 넘어 드디어 호튼 플레인스 간판이 보입니다. 

Here it was, finally we reached Horton plains, after 7 hour drive in narrow dirt roads, 

Ticket price was 5515 rupees for 2. (appr US$42) including vat, service charge, vehicle parking fee. 

티켓 가격은 두명에 5515.75 루피였어요. (약 43000원) 서비스 차지 부가세, 자동차 주차비 포함해서요. 

But when I reached there , I could forget 7 hour drive in dirt road, ticket price, the fear that we felt when we were passing by a bus on a mountain road beside the cliff. I felt like becoming a character in Game of throne, maybe from house Tully. It was foggy enough to gave us unrealistic feeling.

그렇게 7시간 넘게 운전해서 간 호튼 플레인스는 

와...

무슨 왕좌의 게임 배경인가... 안개가 자욱한 비현실적인 풍경이 눈앞에 펼쳐지기 시작했습니다. 

I loved this red flower tree. In Sinhalese they call 'Maha Rathmal' or 'Asoka'

저 나무가 너무 예뻐서 꽃을 확대해 봤어요. 고산지인 이곳에만 자라는 나무래요. 싱할라어로는 '마하 라트말' 혹은 '아소카' 라고 부른대요. 

7시간 반 운전해서 온 시간이, 그리고 티켓 비용이 아깝지 않았어요. 

But nowadays this whole park is becoming brackeny, threatening other native species. Yeah I could see that and I thought maybe Koreans can teach them how to cook Brackens. 

요샌 고사리가 왕성하게 번식해서 이 곳의 고유 식물 종을 위협하고 있대요. 고사리 나물 만드는 법을 알려주고 싶었어요.

멀리 보이는 사슴 가족. 눈 앞의 길을 가로질러 뛰어가는 야생마와 산양도 보았지만 너무 빨라 찍을 수가 없었다. 

A deer family, we also saw wild horses, an antelope, which was flashing so fast in front of my eyes, couldn't take a photo. 

Little World's End, it was breathe taking, on the other hand it was breathe taking because of strong wind. It was very difficult to take photos on that day, it was a challenge to be standing there. 

세상의 끝. 숨막히게 아름다운 경치였어요. 그런데 바람이 너무 많이 불어서도 숨이 막혔습니다. 

사진 찍기가 어려웠어요. 서 있는 것도 도전이었거든요. 

한바퀴를 돌기 전에 해가 져 가서 마지막엔 거의 뛰다시피 했어요. 몽환적인 분위기가 좋지만 어두워지면 무섭잖아요. 그리고 다시 7시간 운전해서 집에 갈 생각이었으니까요. 왠만하면 2시 전에 도착해서 여유있게 둘러 보시길 권합니다. 

The sun was going down before we take one round of the park. I recommend to reach to horton plains national park before 2 pm. I had to run in the end of the tour. Dreamy scenes were fantastic but imagine after dark, it will become a park of white walkers, shadows and krakens.
